Stage 3: This stage is high-risk period of diabetic nephropathy. And persistent proteinuria will appear.

Stage 4: It usually takes 15-25 years’ to develop into this stage. Symptoms including high blood pressure, swelling, etc can be a common sign.

Stage 5: This advanced stage is also called ESRD. With extremely low GFR level, dialysis may be recommended by the doctors.
